Simplifying Sales Tax in Gallery Storefronts

T

ax time for photographers doesn’t have to be complicated. While you’re collecting your receipts, filling out forms, and calculating how much you owe, CloudSpot now simplifies sales tax in your Gallery Storefronts with the proper sales tax documentation.

When you opt to have sales tax applied to your Store orders, tax rates will be applied based on the shipping address of the order. You must set up a Catalog before the Taxes option is available in your CloudSpot Storefront.

There are two options for collecting Sales Tax. If you are in the United States, we've partnered with TaxJar to auto-calculate your rates for you. If you'd rather set your rates, or you are outside of the US, you can use our Manual option.

NOTE: This blog post is not intended to be a substitute for professional accounting advice. For any specific advice regarding sales and use tax or business taxes, please consult a professional certified public accountant. Regardless of any specified CloudSpot options and settings, it is the photographer's responsibility to collect and remit all applicable sales tax that is necessary for their business.
